From August 2026, Broadway’s hit musical WAITRESS arrives at the Sydney Lyric Theatre for its first ever season in Australia. Filled with heart, hope and a generous serve of humour, this award-winning musical brings Jenna’s story to life with a soaring pop-infused score by Grammy winner Sara Bareilles.

WAITRESS follows Jenna, a talented pie maker searching for a fresh start and the recipe for happiness. When a baking contest and a new romance give her a taste of possibility, she discovers the secret ingredient she has been missing might be closer than she ever imagined.
With direction by Tony Award recipient Diane Paulus and a book by Jessie Nelson, the show celebrates resilience, friendship and learning to rise again. Time Out calls it “made from the finest ingredients”. Entertainment Weekly calls it “a little slice of heaven”.
