Tech Central Sydney

Australia’s leading district for technology, innovation and ideas

Tech Central is Sydney’s innovation heartland, bringing together high-growth startups, scaleups, global technology companies and venture capital in a single, connected precinct. Spanning six square kilometres and bordered by Haymarket, Camperdown and South Eveleigh, it has the highest concentration of technology businesses anywhere in Australia.

The precinct is home to some of the country’s most influential tech companies, including Atlassian, Block (Afterpay), Canva, SafetyCulture and Rokt, alongside more than 150 research institutes and two world-leading universities, the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

More than a business district, Tech Central operates as a living ecosystem where founders, researchers and investors connect, collaborate and build. It’s already producing more research and innovation than any other area in NSW and continues to grow as Australia’s largest innovation precinct.

Tech Central Innovation Hub

Located at 477 Pitt Street, the Tech Central Innovation Hub (TCIH) acts as the front door to the precinct. Spread across six floors and 8,000 square metres, the hub supports startups, scaleups and innovation-led businesses through flexible workspaces, event areas and tailored support services.

The hub sits alongside organisations such as UTS Startups, Haymarket HQ, Cicada Innovations, Tank Stream Labs and Sydney Knowledge Hub (USYD), creating a strong network of expertise and opportunity. With Central Station just minutes away, it’s a natural meeting point for local, regional and international founders.
