Lyric Theatre

A stage for the spectacular

Sydney Lyric Theatre sets the scene for some of the world’s most iconic performances — from Hamilton and Phantom of the Opera, to Elton John and Stevie Wonder. Located within The Star entertainment precinct and an 8 minute stroll from your room, it’s been a cornerstone of Sydney’s live theatre scene for over 15 years, welcoming Broadway blockbusters, chart-topping concerts and boundary-pushing ballet.

Dinner, drinks & drama

Make a night of it with pre-show dining just steps from the stage. Percy brings an irresistible fusion of authentic tapas, vibrant wines, handcrafted cocktails, and the soulful charm of Spanish culture. It’s the kind of place where golden hour hits just right and every plate is made for sharing.

Or venture across to The Star precinct for more options: Flying Fish champions Australian seafood with refined, elegant plates, while Rumble brings a bolder flavour spectrum with South-East Asian dishes and a sharp pre-theatre set menu — plus happy hour every Wednesday to Friday from 4pm–6pm and 8pm till close.

Prefer something different? The Star also offers premium steakhouses, international buffets and casual favourites at the Food Court, so there’s something for every appetite (and curtain time).

Planning your visit

Getting to Sydney Lyric from Hotel Woolstore 1888 is easy — just an 8 minute from our Pyrmont address, or a breezy ride on the light rail from Pyrmont Bay, with The Star station just two stops away.

Once inside, give yourself time to settle in. The doors open 30–60 minutes before showtime, and the licensed bars are the perfect spot for a pre-show sip. Note that only small bags (A4 or smaller) are permitted, with cloakroom services available if needed.

Check the Sydney Lyric Theatre website for current shows and upcoming seasons — then plan your perfect night from there.
